If you edit a wiki article with the visual editor, sometimes it deletes the <ref>
tags that make reused references work. If this happens, you can use this tool to fix it quickly.
Put the name of the article (e.g. "IBM Personal Computer") in the Page Name field and click retrieve. Put the revision ID (e.g. 981529334) in the Revision ID field and click Retrieve. Now click Process, and you should see text appear in the third box.
Paste that text into the Wiki source editor and hit Preview. Verify that all the references are now valid. Save, and you're done!
If the retrieve buttons don't work, you can also just copy out the source for the new and old revisions and paste them into the boxes beneath each retrieve button.
I whipped this up in a hot hurry and I'm not a very good programmer. Make sure that after you save the fixed revision, you diff it against the previous one to make sure this tool didn't delete half the article!
Also, the code is extremely fragile. There's no error handling. If anything goes wrong, the tool will probably just sit there and do nothing.
